14 September 2026

On 14 September 2026, Claudio Caramadre (Tinexta Innovation Hub) and Stefano Paolini (RESI S.p.A.) attended the Final Event of APP4FARM, held in Brescia and online, hosted by the University of Brescia.

APP4FARM (Artificial Intelligence Application for Farming) is a European research project funded under the Horizon 2020 ERA-Net Co-fund programme ICT-AGRI-FOOD, coordinated by the University of Brescia together with partners including CNR-IBBR, the GFZ Helmholtz Centre for Geosciences, Munster Technological University, Teagasc Food Research Centre, and the University of Florence. The project has developed a Decision Support System to help farmers monitor nitrogen loss and manage nitrogen-based fertilisers more efficiently, combining a dedicated sensoring system for soil and environmental monitoring with machine learning and AI-based forecasting models.

The final event brought together researchers, institutions, companies and stakeholders to discuss how data, digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence can support more efficient, sustainable and future-oriented agricultural practices — themes closely aligned with HortiQD’s own mission of enabling data-driven, precision approaches to crop management and reduced chemical input in European agriculture.

Participating in events like APP4FARM’s final conference allows HortiQD to connect with the wider community of EU-funded digital agriculture projects, exchange insights on sensor technologies and AI-based decision support, and explore potential synergies between projects working toward a more sustainable and technologically advanced agricultural sector.
