On the occasion of the inauguration of the new University of Chicago Center in Paris, the CNRS and the University of Chicago organized a high‑level workshop dedicated to infrared nanocrystals and optoelectronics. The event took place at the University of Chicago Center in Paris (41 rue des Grands Moulins) and included a networking reception at the Sorbonne Université Campus.

Among the distinguished invited speakers was Peter Reiss (CEA), who delivered a talk on Near‑Infrared Active III‑V Quantum Dots for Optoelectronics. His presentation highlighted the relevance of quantum dot technologies for advanced sensing and imaging, directly connected to the objectives of the HortiQD project.

The workshop also provided an opportunity to introduce upcoming initiatives, including the preparation of a startup company by Oleksandra, focused on the production of InSb quantum dots – a central material for the HortiQD detector. This underlines the project’s strong link between cutting‑edge research, industrial exploitation, and future commercialization.

By participating in this international event, CEA and HortiQD reinforced their visibility in the global scientific community and showcased how the project’s innovations contribute to the advancement of sustainable and cost‑effective sensing technologies.
